Parent Volunteers/School Council Elections

There are many ways that you can get involved in your child's education. Some of these ways include becoming a parent volunteer or participating in school council. If you wish to volunteer (e.g., safe arrival, milk program, pizza program, field trips, etc.) you will need to ensure that a recent (within the last 6 months) criminal reference check is on file at your child's school, or that you have completed the annual declaration form (available online). If you are interested in being a part of school council, please check our twitter account, the webpage calendar, or the remind app for our next meeting date.

Every school has a school council-a group focused on helping all students succeed.

School councils are groups of parents, community representatives, teaching and non-teaching employees, students and the school principal. Through the active participation of parents, school councils work to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.

Support for school councils is provided by the Simcoe County District School Board's Parent Involvement Committee.
